Monsoon inspired fiber book

The Monsoon has inspired poets, musicians and artists on the Indian subcontinent for centuries and it's my turn  to attempt capturing the moods of this season in a small fiber book which will measure approximately 4" x 6" when it's complete.

 Embroidery and applique. I'm exploring and creating a variation of how to make a fiber book. The process of making this little book will serve to make a tutorial which I have promised some visitors to the blog. I request some patience, the tutorial will be posted once the book is completed.

The beginnings of another page. I'm using some of the natural dyed and rust dyed fabrics from my stash. The rusty washer found on my morning walk made that beautiful burning summer sun.

Change is in the air.

June CQJP

Got the CQJP journal pages done for June. Yipee!

The Crazy Quilt page. The Transit of Venus was big but it was a cloudy morning in Bangalore and I didn't see it. :( 

The journal page for June combined with explorations of stitches from TAST (Take a Stitch Tuesday). In June there was buttonhole wheel, cable chain stitch and palestrina stitch.

Some catching up to do for the CQJP. Have the CQ block done for July, now I have to embellish the seams while recording the happenings in July in embroidery on the journal page.

Monsoon Moodiness

Its been raining. Its the monsoon. Days are grey and moody.Everything is wet and soggy perfect for mould to proliferate. Its getting cooler and its dark by 6.30 in the evening. Perfect weather to sip tea and eat all manner of comfort food. Watch movies, everthing is slowing down most of all the economy. I still have a couple of million little stitches to embroider and my list of to do things, to contemplate and complete.
