Seeking Inspiration

I can't sit silently and listen but I can sit silently, do embroidery and listen. Embroidery in my opinion is meditative and I'm hoping that will be sufficient for inspiration to dawn.

Irreverent quotes

I've been in the habit of scribbling down quotes in notebooks since I was in school. Never did anything with them. My mother is discovering them now when she flips through the odd book she finds.
Once I discovered embroidered cushions with irreverent quotes on Pinterest I decided I was going to embroider quotes irreverent, sarcastic or otherwise and get them framed.
This will be an ongoing project.
I intend getting them framed.Let's see if I can find some place to display and sell them here in Coonoor. No stores or galleries in this town.
I have a glass fronted cupboard in our B n B where I'll put them for our guests to view and hopefully they will want to buy. At present the cupboard is bare. Need to  stitch a little quicker I think.
Have a good week.

Crazy Quilting and Cross stitching

It's almost a month since I posted on this blog.
A month of cross stitching and crazy quilting. Below are the fruits of my labour.
 CQ block for May.

Crazy quilt block for June.
That's the CQ block and cross stitch pattern for June as they would appear, side by side in the final book.

May and June - Joyful World stitch along

May and June patterns in the Joyful World stitch along are now complete.
Almost all the animals featured are part of the environment I live in. I love this bear. My attempts at bee keeping have ended with the bees buzzing off and leaving me with an empty hive. My neighbour has about five hives and has been visited by a bear!

April - Joyful World Stitch along

It's almost the end of August and I've just completed the pattern for April.
Here's the crazy quilt block and the stitch along pattern for April.

Two weeks and no signs of Socks.
My next project is to start drawing the flowers, birds and insects which I see on a daily basis here in the Nilgiris. I'm hoping to create a colouring book.
