Looking for Roy G Biv 2 - Blue

I saw a lot of Cobalt blue this month in my search for Roy G Biv. I wonder why its so popular, is it cultural, religious, why cobalt blue? I must try and find out.

Electric blue serial lights wound around the trunk and branches of a tree. You would never have guessed right?
Cobalt blue chain link fence.

Scratched cobalt blue paint texture on a merry go round.

I've never seen a fish like this so I don't know how to go about searching for a name. Any clues anyone? There was no name and price at the fish shop where I snapped this picture.

What blue and where did you find it? Won't you play along? See what some others found this month here and here.

Have a great weekend.

Thats so funny, it took me ages to work out who or what Roy G Biv is. we always say Richard of York Gave Battle in Vain. But yours is so much shorter and easier to say! What fun.

The electric blue lights around that tree are amazing, but so too is that fish .... not sure I'd want to eat it ....

I'm so glad I joined Roy B Giv,thank you Julie, this is so much fun and so inspiring.

Nora - reading about Roy G Biv on Julie's blog at the beginning of the year made me realise what it was all about. I don't think I would have figured it out otherwise.
The Richard of York Gave Battle in Vain is new to me, have to check that one out.

Charlton Stitcher - I don't think anyone would want to eat that fish, it looks too ornamental. Thanks for visiting.

I love the rusty blues, and believe your marvelous fish is a species of parrotfish (wrasse). They are so wonderfully colorful!

The blue on the fish is stunning, but then fish do come in the most amazing array of colours. And no, I'd never have guessed about the lights around the tree. Wonderful!

Ok, I'm guessing that Roy G Biv has something to do with red/green/blue. For those of us who are really clueless, ie, me can you tell me exactly what it is and how do I get to play too?

You're guess about Roy G Biv being VIBGYOR is correct Marta. Each month is dedicated to looking for a colour and photographing it. Post upto 5 pics on your blog on the 3rd Thursday of the month and let Julie know on her blog http://www.threadbornblog.com/ or Jennifer - http://jennifercoynequdeen.blogspot.in/ and they will post a link to your post so others can visit and be inspired, as simple as that.
In July we're looking for Indigo.

I just bought a new camera so I think I may well join in. Also, in about 7 weeks will be travelling, first to Lugano, Switzerland for 2 weeks and then to NYC for 8 weeks. Bound to have lots of opportunities to photograph colour of every hue.
