Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day. I love the simple image of a heart and I've decided to make a cross-stitch sampler of hearts. I've begun on the sampler and I hope to have it done by Valentine's next year. This is the first heart on the sampler.

It's darling!

I'm new to cross-stitch (but nonetheless addicted) and I have a question.

For the wing and tail, are those large stitches backstitch or what are they? It's very unique.

Hello I hope all of you had a memorable Valentine's day.

Thank-you for visiting Play with Needles and Twisted Sister and for the comments. It feels good to be appreciated.

Hi there Lily, to answer your question- for the wing and tail its cross-stitch but you skip a stitch ( that sounds more like a knitting term) and in the following row you make a stitch in the space that was left - that way you end up with a trellis like pattern. Hope that helped!!!

Arch thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
